Alan Lander

Of Counsel

In 1978, Alan Lander graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then worked for a nonprofit organization, organizing mobile home parks in rural areas to fight landlords who were cheating their tenants. Realizing he could be more effective fighting the rich and powerful with a law degree, Alan attended the University of Maryland School of Law at night, beginning in 1980, while working during the day as a legal assistant for a busy personal injury firm in Baltimore.

After law school, Alan and his wife moved to Southern Maryland to raise their family. He was licensed to practice law in Maryland in 1985, Virginia in 1986, and the District of Columbia in 1987. In the decades since, Alan has dedicated his career to fighting insurance companies that try to cheat people, using his law degree as his weapon in that battle. He has worked for plaintiff personal injury law firms throughout his career, including his own firm, the Law Office of Alan Lander, which he founded in 2014. Over the course of his career, Alan has tried more than 400 bench and jury trials in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland, and has represented tens of thousands of injured people.

Alan is pleased to be joining Kisner Law as Of Counsel, where he will continue fighting for justice for his clients. Alan and his wife of 45 years have three grown children and six grandchildren.
